Hell Is Here

How long have you known
dying dogs can hold on for years
sometimes you just know,
sometimes it toys with you.

Didn't always look at stars
used to stare into the sun
went blind for a year
opened my eyes to the dark.

Poised my brow in reverie
then raised it in revelry.
Took a walk, found the moon.
How long have you been there?

Funny how obvious the most
overlooked thing can be.
Are all of my desires
hidden deep inside of me?

Fed the dog today, she ate
immediately, cleared the bowl.
Reminds me of the urgency
you felt to see me that day.

Tried to make it just like heaven
found myself wishing for hell.
Arrived in purgatory, awaiting
decision, there's no remission.
