when the paper tires of waiting
for pens pointless drab dribble
it will turn to less permanent tools
to escape the dribble drabble
much like I resort to soaking in
the feeble jibber jabber
in an effort to ignore my minds
inner empty platter
with each word upon the page
the paper gets little relief
but the mere distraction from the blank
page is all that it needs
when it finally gets a phrase
unworthy of the crumple
its fears are swept aside
not lost in word jumble
when the pen finally runs dry
and there's still lines left white
the paper will find a new
writing utensil to suffice.
