6/26
A decision was made, some say it was long overdue. Most, in fact think that way. I am inclined to agree. The news spread fast, the media was overjoyed to indulge. What great timing, they say. What a momentous occasion. The opposition had lost. Their opinions no longer matter. They were wrong, the majority tells me. They are hateful people. I try to sit atop the fence. I reserve my judgment, my beliefs do not matter. I am a fly buzzing between rooms, hearing both conversations. I contribute little. When I do, I rebuttal both ideas. Who is to determine what is right? Who's decision is it to enact law? Who's is it to uphold tradition? I agree we are all equal. I concede that no one should tell me how to live my life, so long as it does not have a negative effect on others. However, sometimes I think there is a wrong way to do the right thing. I do not believe five people should have so much authority. I do not think five people should have so much power. Why is it we put so much emphasis and attention on electing Officials, when they are not even the ones making the real decisions? But I digress. I'm probably just thinking too much about things. What does my opinion mean, anyway?
