usually opaque
but lacking of gusto
mellow dramas still remain
still remains unbearable
unbreakable charades
depict an inner monologue
wrapped up in syllables
far too numerous to be repeated
but simple enough to be understood
just a few looks and you'll know
which direction to steer the ship
until there's collision you look
like the captain of this mess
my capacity for failure
reaches new heights everyday
what looks like complacency
gets lost for seven days
gets taken to a shrink
gets taken for a ride
gets lost inside a hive
gets buried in my mind
gets taken for granted
gets cut up and spread out
gets eaten by the birds
before the roots even took hold
gets chewed up and swallowed
before it's even seasoned
gets aired out and dried
before the stains even set
gets forgotten reminded
before the memory even fades.
